Frequently Asked Questions - Nunex

Nunex is a Portuguese brand of baby and children’s care products. We develop and manufacture nappies, wipes and protective pads in Portugal, with a commitment to providing quality, safety and comfort from day one.

All our products are manufactured in Portugal, at our factory in Viana do Castelo. This allows us to ensure strict quality control for every batch and support the national economy, while also reducing the ecological footprint associated with transportation.

Nappies

Yes. Our Dropline nappies are tested to provide up to 12 hours of protection. The latest-generation absorbent core keeps moisture away from the baby’s skin, helping to prevent leaks and irritation during sleep.

The main difference between the two ranges lies in their protection focus: Dropline relies on absorption technology for long periods, while Nature focuses on sustainability.

Nunex Dropline is our high-performance nappy. Thanks to its patented rapid-absorption channel and anatomical design, it provides 12 hours of dryness, making it the ideal choice for a good night’s sleep and maximum moisture retention during periods of increased movement.

Nunex Nature is our more ecological option. It stands out for incorporating raw materials of natural and biodegradable origin, such as PLA (derived from corn starch), which reduces the environmental impact associated with product disposal. It is the right choice for those who prioritise sustainable materials and more natural contact with the skin.

Both ranges are completely free from fragrances, latex and parabens.

We prioritise neutrality. Our nappies do not contain fragrances or lotions that could interfere with the skin’s natural pH or cause allergic reactions. Nunex focuses on keeping the skin barrier dry through breathable materials, rather than through the application of external chemical agents.

Wipes

Nunex Sensitive and Nunex Nature wipes, unlike most wipes on the market, are produced 100% plastic-free and without synthetic fibres. They are made exclusively from fibres of natural origin that break down in water.

Because they are biodegradable and made from natural materials:

They can be flushed down the toilet: As they break down in water, they can be disposed of this way. We only recommend that you do not flush more than two at a time, to ensure that the plumbing continues to work properly.

They have a lower environmental impact: They decompose naturally in much less time than wipes containing plastic, which can take hundreds of years to disappear.

They are safer: The absence of plastics and synthetic chemicals makes them much softer and more suitable for sensitive baby skin, especially the Nature range, which is made up of 99% water.

Nunex Basic wipes, on the other hand, contain plastic in their composition.

Only wipes that are labelled as biodegradable on the packaging can be flushed down the toilet, as they are made from cellulose fibres that break down in water. All others should be disposed of in the regular waste bin to prevent blockages in the plumbing.

Both our Sensitive and Nature wipes are made from these natural materials and contain no plastic, so they can be flushed down the toilet. To ensure that your home’s sewage system continues to work properly, we only recommend that you do not flush more than two wipes at a time.

No. None of the ranges contain alcohol or parabens. Nature is completely fragrance-free (99% water), Sensitive uses 98.5% naturally sourced ingredients to nourish the skin, and Basic (98.8% natural) uses chamomile water and inulin for soothing care without synthetic chemicals.
